about

Doors of Hope Geauga is a nonprofit created by three Geauga County residents with a shared passion for serving those experiencing housing insecurity in their community. The goal of the organization is to provide families facing homelessness in Geauga County with temporary shelter and supportive services to address each family’s barriers to stable housing and assist them in attaining long-term independence.

Doors of Hope Geauga believes that shelter is a basic need of every human being and that good housing conditions are essential not only for one’s physical well-being, but for one’s mental health as well. To that end, the agency offers families shelter that is secure, clean and provides space for families to grow in all aspects of family life.

our family shelter

The organization believes strongly that its services are best delivered in a shared living facility with common areas conducive to developing a sense of community and support. To fulfill that vision, Doors of Hope Geauga has purchased a large house in Middlefield Township to serve as its family shelter. In addition to comfortable bedrooms, the home provides ample space for gathering, recreation, delivery of services and staffing.
